Supporting our Children and School
What is a PTA?
PTA stands for Parent Teacher Association. A PTA is a non-profit organization that is run solely by volunteers who work without pay during their own free time. Members of the PTA are there to provide support for the school and its teachers and to provide enriched activities for the children and their families who attend their school.
How is the money raised by fundraisers used?
The PTA earns a certain percentage of the money raised by fundraisers throughout the school year and all money goes toward enrichment activities for the children and to provide support toward school programs and supplies. Some of the fundraiser's the PTA sponsors are; Scholastic book orders, the Fall fundraiser (Cherrydale Farms, Otis Spunkmeyer, etc.), Fall Festival silent auction; and School Apparel. The money from these are raised to:
Assist with the purchase of additional classroom supplies; Sponsor the Reflections
Program; Teacher appreciation days; Field Day activities; Assist with field trip
costs; Basic operating expenses used by PTA (website fees, printing or buzz book,
legal fees, etc.); Sponsor classroom social activities such as holiday parties; and
Provide family social events such as our Ice Cream Socials, Family Dinner Night,
Family Fun Night, Fall Festival, and the Talent Show.
We also maintain the “Rebate” programs for the school. These programs are a collection of points from consumer purchases offered by a variety of companies. The PTA does not receive any money from these programs instead the points from these items or purchases go into a school account. Go to Fundraising >
