Funded the Maryland State Art Council’s Artist-In-Residence Program which provides opportunities for hands-on intensive workshops for students and teachers.

Carried out the MD PTA Reflections Art program (literature, music, photos, visual art, and film).

Children strutted their stuff at the ever-popular Talent Show at Urbana High School (over 50 acts).

Provided funding for the copyright fee for Mrs. Milam’s play.

Coordinated and organized Field Day.
Ran the stimulating Fall Festival and the terrific Silent Auction (which also supports the PTA).
Provided funding for the Kemptown Book Clubs.

Worked with the school to bring in the Ident-A-Kid program, a child safety/identification program.
Held another well-attended and appreciated Family Dinner night utilizing Carrabba's Restaurant.

Sponsored the Box Tops, Campbell's Soup label, and rebate programs that bring support directly to the school.
Coordinated and trained the parent volunteers at KES.
Held the excellent Sally Foster campaign that supports most of the PTA programming throughout the year.
Supported teacher-initiated activities and programs through the Creative Enrichment fund.

Funded the purchase of an electric keyboard, amp, and stand for the Music Department.
Helped reimburse the school staff for out-of-pocket expenses.
Provided delicious food for the staff during the parent-teacher conferences in the fall and spring.
Showed our appreciation of the school staff with lunches and Staff Appreciation week at the end of the year.

Updated and kept KES PTA website a current source of information (www.kesptaonline.org).
Published the terrific newsletter with the fantastic pix of different PTA events.
Kept our families informed with the timely announcements on the school sign.
Once again published the Buzz Book, which is an invaluable tool for our families.
Donated to the Earth, Space, and Science Laboratory which provides planetarium and other science programs to our children and community, and Urbana High School Safe and Sane.
Consistently held monthly KES PTA meetings which included free babysitting services paid for by the PTA.
Had engaging and knowledgeable guest speakers at the General PTA Meetings on the following topics:
Helping your Child Succeed,
College Savings Options, and
Being a Media Smart Family Controlling your TV.
KES PTA representatives attended all the Frederick County PTA Council Meetings keeping our PTA informed.
One of our active PTA members was presented with one of only two Lifetime Achievement awards given out in Maryland by the Maryland PTA Council this year. KES PTA gave out two Lifetime Appreciation awards.
Kemptown Elementary's PTA was presented a Certificate of Merit Award from the Maryland PTA Council and a PTA Unit Achievement Award from the National PTA.
